.
It is in my customary Quasi-Rodgers channel setup. Licensed users of the Baumhoer sampleset
will be able to use the registrations I used and alter them. You may purchase this sampleset from
PipeLoops.
All others will be able to create their own registrations on different instruments.
The file named OrganID001122.rar should be unpacked in a separate directory and added manually to the folder C:\Hauptwerk\HauptwerkUserData\Combinations\OrganID001122\ Do a backup first so as not to erase combinations you may have created with the same name. To alter the registration, stop the MIDI file, turn on Combination Capture CTL-; change stops; go to current frame CTL-down arrow key; turn off capture CTL-' and proceed playing the MIDI. Save the new combination file under a different name. If your MIDI player has a tempo control (I use van Basco Karaoke player to play slower or faster), you can adjust tempo to different rooms, samplesets, and your own taste. While you're playing back a piece, say Trio Sonata No. 2, BWV 526, try exploring different temperaments, which you can do as it is playing. Note that some change pitch dramatically (anything with "Roetha" in front of it). If you like to use shortcut keys a lot as I do, and maybe make typing misteaks as much as I do, it might be well to familiarize yourself with the effects they can have. Click any of the tabs at the top and a list will pop up. Moving the mouse over any other tab to see other shortcut keys. Clicking on your keyboard's ESC key will make it go away. You can check the status om some of them by looking at the bottom cells. In addition to Current Frame, you can see the Transposer, Tuner, Temperament, Recorder, and Capture statuses. Any two manual and pedal organ will play these files, but you will have to create the registrations yourself. Usually they just use Generals 1 through 14, but sometimes banks and even sequential frames are used when the number exceeds 8. BTW the Bank are groupings of 64 Frames. You will see the numbers 1 - 65 - 129 etc. in the lower left part of the window when you push CTL-1, CTL-2, CTL-3 etc. Pushing CTL-cursor right advances 1 frame, CTL-cursor left decreases 1 frame. My suggestion is that you create a new registration file in your (2-manual) sampleset of choice, add stops that you will be able to hear on each of the eight banks, play the MIDI file, change registrations according to your grand plan. If the organ drops out, usually at the end, you will see that a new frame has been accessed. Stop the MIDI file and make adjustments. It will probably be based on the frame that precedes it. In a very few cases. two frames or banks are accessed quickly so that, for example, a pedal reed can be added or a manual that is not playing can be augmented or decreased in preparation for a manual change. Save the results to a new combination file. I made extensive use of couplers and compensated for any overlaps or blurs that may have been present. I also used the G.O. expression extensively, and experimented with Prospect Enclosed and noise features. Usually I opted for the organ's temperament. Many of the tracks were completely reworked in regards to articulation.Because there were only 6 combination pistons I sometimes mixed those with Registration Banks.
