- Bach, Johann Sebastian: Partita on Ach, was soll ich sünder machen, BWV 770
- Schweitzer is of the opinion that Bach may have written the first 8 variations, but the last two are very unlike his style, particularly with regard
to the treatment of the manual changes. It may be that Bach copied the work of one of his pupils. No matter who wrote it, once the gloomy first verse
is acknowledged, it is a sprightly set of variations.

- Froberger, J. J.: Capriccio VI
- The first of four sections (Manuaal Bourdon 8' + Viola di Gamba 8' + Octaaf 4') uses an ascending chromatic scale which is answered by a
descending one. The second (MN Prestant 8' + Octaaf 4') is based a rhythmic variant of the descending scale throughout. The third, (MN
Prestant 8' + Octaaf 4' + Woodfluit 2') in triple meter, ascends once more, and the fourth (MN Bourdon 8' + Octaaf 4' + Quint 3' + Woodfluit
2', Pedaal Bourdon 16' + Prestant 8' + Viola di Gamba 8') returns to common meter, using faster notes in alternating ascending and descending
patterns. Eighth-Comma Temperament.

- Grigny, Nicolas De: Dialogue (3rd Agnus Dei)
- This dialogue has several levels: the "Récit" vs. the "G.O." Plena, solos on two different cornets, one for the right hand, a different for the left,
and a long "3 manual" echo section which varies each little phrase ever so subtly in ornamentation and articulation, finally ending with full organ
complete with slow descending chromatic pedal line. Not a modern Agnus Dei of weakness and passivity, but one that calls attention to itself.
Indicated registrations:
- Recit Petit Plein Jeu (played on G.O.)
- G.O. Grand choeur leger (includes Positiv Cornet for later use)
- Recit. Cornet in R.H., G.O. flutes
- Positiv Flutes 8+4, G.O. Cornet
- same as 2, but Positiv 8 Flute to simulate Echo
- Grand Jeu with Pedal Bombarde
