Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend', BWV 632 Click to Listen [1:17]
A cheerful setting with pedal presenting the chorale in dimunition. Both are free settings of the melody, but not identical, so it is not a canon. The background is build upon the three opening notes of the Chorale, which is a triad - a technique later known as arpeggio, because of its harp-like quality. Instrument: Marcussen & Son Organ / St. Stefanuschurch / Moerdijk (Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands) (1965) - Samples by Ariaan Hoogendijk

Virtually Baroque wouldn't be quite as dynamic if it were done with dialup - push the red button please; it will help me to continue offering music for your enjoyment.

Chorale Text
German:
Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend,
Dein heilgen Geist du zu uns send!
Mit Lieb und Gnad, Herr, uns regier
Und uns den Weg zur Wahrheit führ.
--Wilhelm II, Duke of Saxe-Weimar, Gotha, 1651 [?]

English:
Lord Jesus Christ, be present now!
And let Thy Holy Spirit bow
All hearts in love and fear today,
To hear the truth and keep Thy way.
