- Fuga in C Major "Gigue", BuxWV 174
[3:4] (A=465)
A jolly old fugue in 12/8 time. The bulk of the fugue is played on alternating Hauptwerk (Rohrflöte 8'+ Octava 4' + Octava 2') and Oberwerk (Gedack 8'
+ Rohrflöte 4'+ Octava 2'), with the Pedal Posaune 16' waiting in the wings. It becomes a fantasy Virtual Performance at the end (only possible if two
assistants have spent the last hour at the German equivalent of Starbucks) : the manuals build up gradually to full organ for a sassy finish.
