Am Creutz ist ausgespannet bloss,
Hat seinen Glantz verzehret,
Herzlich,
Schmerzlich
Ist deine Liebe
Heise und trübe
Reich von Gaben,
Die dich an das Holtz erhaben.
English:
O jesus, how is your figure,
in great and diverse pain,
deeply injured with wounds!
The body of such holiness
is stretched out naked on the cross,
has consumed its splendor.
Your love Is heartfelt, painful,
passionate and troubled,
rich in gifts,
which elevated you on the cross.
