- Chorale Text
German:
Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir,
Herr Gott, erhör mein Rufen;
Dein gnädig Ohr neig her zu mir
Und meiner Bitt sie öffne!
Denn so du willt das sehen an,
Was Sünd und Unrecht ist getan,
Wer kann, Herr, vor dir bleiben?
English:
In deep distress I cry to thee,
Lord God, hear thou my calling;
Thy gracious ear bend low to me
And open to my crying!
For if thou wilt observance make
Of sin and deed unjustly done,
Who can, Lord, stand before thee?
