O Herre Gott, dein gõttliches Wort
ist lang verdunkelt blieben,
bis durch dein gnad uns ist gesagt,
was Paulus hat geschrieben,
und andere Apostel mehr,
auf deinem gõttlichen munde;
des dank ich dir
mit fleiss, dass wir
erlebet haben die stunde.
English:
O Lord God, your holy Word
had long remained obscure,
until, through your mercy what was said to us
by your servant Paul
and other Apostles
from your divine inspiration,
for which I thank you
diligently, that we
experience this hour.
