Kyrie, Gott Heiliger Geist, BWV 671 Click to Listen, [4:48]
The three note opening of the chorale is used often right side up and inverted, where it sounds like "Three Blind Mice." Registration: HW Principal 8' + Fugara 4'; SW Geigen 8' + Salicet 4' coupled to PD Bordun 16' + Octavbas 8' + Choralbass 4'. For the dramatic, highly chromatic ending the Hochoctav 4' is added to the HW and it is coupled to the SW, to which has been added Cello 16', and for the PD the Bordun 16' has been replaced by the Subbass 16' (also still coupled to the SW). Instrument: Carl Schäfer Organ in Neckarsulm (1895) Extended Set - Samples by Gernot Wurst

Chorale Text
German:
Kyrie, Gott Heiliger Geist,
Tröst, stärk uns im Glauben allermeist,
Daß wir am letzten End'
Fröhlich abscheiden aus diesem Elend.
Eleison, eleison! Amen.

English:
Kyrie, O God the Holy Ghost,
Guard our faith, the gift we need the most;
Do Thou our last hour bless;
Let us leave this sinful world with gladness.
Eleison, eleison! Amen.
