The Prelude is a series of short arpeggios and scale passages interrupted by a flurry of faster notes. The Almand is full Purcellian syncopations and
quaint ornamentations. The Courante, in 3/4 meter, makesuse of a dotted rhythm and more trills. The Minuet is short, relatively sweet and simple.
