Lightly decorated chorale tune in the right hand on a cornet combination in canon with straightforward chorale in the pedal. This was Luther's first congregational hymn that "went through Germany with the power of lightning in praise of the divine decision to redeem humankind, and the Gospel of freedom." C. K.
