- Canzona in C Major, BuxWV 166
[5:17] (A=465)
In three sections. The first in common meter resembles a fughetta but changes texture to a striking repeated chord pattern, ending with a decorative
flourish; it is played on the Hauptwerk (Principal 8' + Octava 4' + Octava 2'). The second section, in a lilting 6/8 meter, is played on the
Hinterwerk (Gedacktes 8' + Rohrfleute 4' + Octava 2'); near the end the pedal enters (Subbass 16' to which is coupled the Hauptwerk Rohrfleute 8' +
Spizfleute 4') and guides the merriment to a suspenseful 3rd inversion 7th chord. The transition and third section are played on the Hauptwerk
(Principal 8' + Octava 4' + Octava 2' + Mixtur 4-Fach), and when the Pedal comes in it is the entire division (Posaunen Bass 16' + Octaven Bass 8' +
Subbass 16').
