Capriccio XIV Click to Listen, [5:27]
Spicy chromaticism in spacious acoustics, in three broad sections, the first, in common meter, is played on the Hauptwerk, but augmented at the half-cadence by addition of the Rückpositiv, to point out a new repeated-note motiv; the second in 3/2 meter reverts to just the Rückpositiv, where a variant of the repeated note motiv plays out slowly; a transition in common time with more rapid scalar passages leads to the third section in 12/8 meter, played on the augmented Hauptwerk, based on a slightly chromatic but somewhat capricious dance-like motiv; the Rückpositiv is once again added for the ending flourishes, again in common meter. Absolutely no pedals are required for this capriccio. Instrument: Virtual organ set from 1698 Starck organ at Monastery Church of Zlata Koruna, Czech Republic - Samples by Jiri Zurek
