1. Ich danke dir durch deinen Sohn,
o Gott, für deine Güte,
daß du mich heut in dieser Nacht
so gnädig hast behütet.
2. Ich bitte dich aus Herzensgrund,
du wollest mir vergeben
all meine Sünd, die dir ward kund
aus meinem bösen Leben,
3. und wollest mich auch diesen Tag
in deinem Schutz erhalten,
daß mir der Feind nicht schaden mag
mit Listen mannigfalten.
