Gigue/Lament Click to Listen, [3:24]
I found this piece in a piano collection of early music, but fail to see how it could really be played as a gigue, even on the harpsichord. The beautiful downward and upward appogiaturas and poignant ornamentation strike me as more of a lament. The top two voices are on the HW and the bottom on the RP, with occasional doubling in the PD. Registration: Part 1 HW G8 + O4 + S2, RP C8 + C4 + P2 + Q2 (repeat GW G8 + S8 + O4; RP C8 + C4 + P2); Part 2 HW P8 + O4 + S2, RP C8 + Q4 + P2 + Q2 (repeat HW P8 + O4, RP C8 + Q4 + C4); PD SB16 + II/P throughout.
