The Chorale is in the soprano and many of Bach's techniques are used but there is a generally adventurous chromaticism and octave doubling at the end.

Es ist das Heil uns kommen her
Von Gnad' und lauter Güte,
Die Werke helfen nimmermehr,

Now is to us salvation come
