Marked "Allegro" the fugue subject starts with 4 ascending long notes, then a series of three descending quicker notes which effectively create a
2-beat pattern within the prevailing 3/4 meter. Registration: HW Principal 8' + Superoctava 2' + RP/HW Coupler; RP Quintadena 4' + Quinta 1 1/3'; at
end Octava 1' is added to the RP and PD enters with Subbass 16' + HW/PD Coupler.
