Fugue No. 8 Click to Listen, [2:58]
Sturdy steps of ascending major thirds constitute the fugue subject and there are interesting chromatic subtleties to be found. The fugue begins on the HW Principal 8' + Octava 4' and charmingly relieved twice by RP Copula Major 8' + Qvintadena 4' + Principal 2'. At the end the RP/HW Coupler is added and a final statement of the fugue subject on the Pedal (Subbas 16' + Octavbas 8' + RP/PD coupler) is preceded and followed by organ points. Instrument: Renaissance Organ (ca. 1587) in gothic church in Smecno, Czech Republic - Samples by Jiri Zurek
