German:
Alles ist an Gottes Segen
Und an seiner Gnad' gelegen,
Über alles Geld und Gut.
Wer auf Gott sein' Hoffnung setzet,
Der behält ganz unverletzet
Einen freien Heldenmut.
2. Der mich hat bisher ernähret
Und mir manches Glück bescheret,
Ist und bleibet ewig mein.
Der mich wunderlich geführet
Und noch leitet und regieret,
Wird forthin mein Helfer sein.
3. Viel' bemühen sich um Sachen,
Die nur Sorg' und Unruh' machen
Und ganz unbeständig sind.
Ich begehr' nach dem zu ringen,
Was mir kann Vergnügen bringen
Und man jetzt gar selten find't.
4. Hoffnung kann das Herz erquicken;
Was ich wünsche, wird sich schicken,
So es anders Gott gefällt.
Meine Seele, Leib und Leben
Hab' ich seiner Gnad' ergeben
Und ihm alles heimgestellt.
5. Er weiß schon nach seinem Willen
Mein Verlangen zu erfüllen,
Es hat alles seine Zeit.
Ich hab' ihm nichts vorzuschreiben;
Wie Gott will, so muß es bleiben,
Wenn Gott will, bin ich bereit.
6. Soll ich länger allhier leben,
Will ich ihm nicht widerstreben,
Ich verlaße mich auf ihn.
Ist doch nichts, das lang bestehet,
Alles Irdische vergehet
Und fährt wie ein Strom dahin.

English:
1. All that is comes by God's Blessing
And for His Grace His concerning
Above all Money and Good
He who on God his Hope is set
doth behold full security
Such a free Valor it is.
2. He Who has drawn so near to me
and bestowed on me much Blessing
is and remains ever mine.
Who me wonderfully has so led
and still conducted and reign-ed,
will henceforth my Helper be.
3. Much bothering are the Concerns
which but Sorrows and Unrest make,
and oh so inconstant are
I would so struggle against them,
what then to me can Pleasure bring
and one now so seldom finds it.
4. Yea Hope can the Heart so quicken
what I wish, will it send itself,
should another please God
Mine own Soul, my Life and Body
Have I to his Grace devoted
and to Him all as His home.
5. He knows already after His Will
My Longings to be fulfilling
All things are but in His Time
I have nothing with Him to charge
As God wills, so must it to be
If God wills, I am prepared.
6. Shall I longer here be living
Against Him I will not aspire
I do so rely on Him.
Is that yet not so long staying
all Earthly things passing away
onward as a Stream doth go.
