The Chorale alternates between the pedal and the soprano voice, ending with octaves. A triplet rhythm predominates from measure 27 until the end.
Since the organ has no enclosed divisions some of the dynamics are implemented with general combinations.

Wach auf, du Stad Jerusalem!
Mitternacht heisst diese Stunde,

Wo seid ihr klugen Jungfrauen?
Wohlauf, Der Bräut'gam kommt,
Steht auf, die Lampen nehmt!

Mach euch bereit
Zu der Hochzeit,
Ihr müsset ihm entgegengehn.
English:
Wake, awake, for night is flying,
The watchmen on the heights are crying:
Awake, Jerusalem at last!
And at the thrilling cry rejoices:
