Wie schön leuchtet uns der Morgenstern, Op. 67, No. 49 Click to Listen, [1:50]
Marked "Langsam" ("slow"), the chorale is mostly in the soprano (speeded up and an octave higher to begin with), alternating with pedal near the end. The Hauptwerk starts out simulating the Swell, and there is no mistaking when it becomes a Hauptwerk again. Instrument: F. A. Mehmel Village Church Organ, St. Andreas Church, Nehringen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany (1868) -
Samples by Prof. Helmut Maier

Chorale Text
German:
Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern
Voll Gnad und Wahrheit von dem Herrn,
Die süsse Wurzel Jesse.
Du Sohn Davids aus Jakobs Stamm,
Mein König und mein Bräutigam,
Hast mir mein Herz besessen,
Lieblich
Freundlich,
Schön und herrlich,
Gross und ehrlich,
Reich von Gaben.
Hoch und sehr prächtig erhaben.

English:
How beauteous beams the morning star
With truth and blessing from the Lord,
The darling root of Jesse!
Thou, David's son of Jacob's stem,
My bridegroom and my royal king,
Art of my heart the master,
Lovely,
Kindly,
Bright and glorious, great and righteous, rich in blessings,
High and most richly exalted.
