Es ist das Heil uns kommen her, Op. 65, No. 4 Click to Listen, [1:13]
Marked "Lento con expressione" the composer's other notes as translated into English are less clear: "Let the free style of the chorale melody be noted from the coloring" and "It is to be pointed out that a dynamic or exaggerated accent is not to be desired." Even so, a [reduction] for the repeat of the chorale seemed appropriate. Registration: HW Gedact 8' + [Viola di Gamba 8' + Rohrflöte 4'] + Manual Koppel; Hinterwerk Flauto amabile 4'; Pedal Subbass 16' + [Gedactbass 8'] + Violon 8'. Instrument: F. A. Chorale Text

English:
Now is to us salvation come
By grace and purest favor.
Our works, they help us not at all,
They offer no protection.
But faith shall Jesus Christ behold,
Who hath enough done for us all
He is our intercessor.
