Toccata in G Major, BuxWV 164 Click to Listen, [3:8]
Three sections, the first on Hauptwerk (Gedackt 8' + Salicional 8' + Octava 4' + Superoctava 2' + Cymbal) has some rapid ornamentation ending with an organ point over which first inversion arpeggios descend. The second section on Rückpositiv (Copula Major 8' + Copula minor 4' + Principal 2' + Quinta 1 1/3'), is like a fugue with a jaunty little subject and ends with sequential arpeggios, interrupted by section 3 (same registration as #1) with rapid fire scale passages followed by a calm ending. Midi File available. Instrument: Renaissance Organ (ca. 1587) in gothic church in Smecno, Czech Republic -"Live" Second Edition - Samples by Jiri Zurek
