- Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ, BuxWV 188
[7:28]
Unmitigatingly cheerful Christmas trio, subtly employing many of Buxtehude's characteristic techniques - chromaticism, triplets, antiphon and
response, which provide distinction with no change in registration: HW Principal 8' + Octava 4' + Quinta 2 2/3'; RP Copula Major 8' + Copula
minor 4' + Quintadena 4' + Octava 1'; PD Subbas 16' + Octav Bas 8'. Some octave transpositions were made to adjust for the 25-note pedal compass, graphic here.

Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ,
Dass du Mensch geboren bist,
Von einer Jungfrau, dass ist wahr,
Des freuet sich der Engel Schaar.
Kyrie-eleis.
English:
All praise to Jesus’ hallowed name,
Who of virgin pure became,
True man for us! The angels sing,
As the glad news to earth they bring.
Alleluia.
