Canzona in C Major, BuxWV 166 Click to Listen, [5:17] (A=465)
In three sections. The first in common meter resembles a fughetta but changes texture to a striking repeated chord pattern, ending with a decorative flourish. The second section, in a lilting 6/8 meter, is played on the Hinterwerk, near the end the pedal enters and guides the merriment to a suspenseful 3rd inversion 7th chord. The transition and third section are played on the Hauptwerk with Pedal entering at the end. Instrument: Gottfried Silbermann Organ, St. Georgenkirche - Rötha, Germany (1721) - Samples by Brett Milan
