Toccata in F Major (I) Click to Listen, [2:34] (A=465)
In two sections, a short florid one in common time and a dancelike longer section in 12/8. Organ points predominate in the Pedal, and the two manuals interact in various ways, the Hauptwerk usually identifiable because it is based on the 16' Bourdon. There are two toccatas in this key: see the three current cataloguing systems, unfortunately tied to scores and recordings I don't own. Instrument: Gottfried Silbermann Organ, St. Georgenkirche - Rötha, Germany (1721) - Samples by Brett Milan
