- Christum Wir Sollen Loben Schon, BWV 611
[2:3]
Bach at his most mysterious, the chorale is in the alto voice, the pedal is constantly descending, the other two voices form an arabesque of unusual
quiet joy. The words dwell on the mystery of Christ's incarnation, and its farflung consequences. Registration: strings, 8' flutes and celestes of
Swell and Choir coupled to Great, Brad Lehman Temperament, Impulse Reverberation added, 2dB output volume, which puts the right channel just under
clipping, due to the double pedal at the end.
Midi File available.

German:
Christum wir sollen loben schon,
Der reinem Magd Marien Sohn,
So weit die liebe Sonne leucht
Und an aller Welt Ende reicht.

Now praise we Christ, the Holy one,
The spotless virgin Mary's Son,
Far as the blessed sun doth shine,
E'en to the world's remote confine.
