Praeludium in G Major, BuxWV 147 Click to Listen, [3:28]
The score indicates the left hand for what would in similar pieces be a pedal cadenza followed by an organ point. A light-hearted short section follows, ending with rapid eccentric scalar flourishes. The meat of the piece is a four-voice fughetta that brings to mind J. S. Bach's St. Anne Fugue, but it ends with characteristic Buxtehude figuration and a final soprano flourish. Brad Lehman Temperament. -3dB output volume. Impulse reverberation added. Score provided by Boris Mudrinic. Instrument: Schantz at First Baptist Church of Riverside, California (1966) sampled by Jonathan Orwig
