The last in the series of Chorale Harmonizations, this bell-like, almost jazzy little setting of the German Christmas hymn uses compound 12/8-4/4 rhythms, packing a lot of variety into 15 measures. Instrument: Johann Adam Ehrlich organ at Evangelische Stadtkirche / Bad Wimpfen, Germany (1748) - Samples by Gernot Wurst

Chorale Text
German:
Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her,
Ich bring euch gute neue Mär;
Der guten Mär bring ich so viel,
Davon ich singn und sagen will.

English:
From heav'n on high I come to you, I bring to you glad tidings new;
I bring to you good tidings new;
Of that good news I bring so much,
Thereof both sing and tell I will.
