In four sections: Imitative counterpoint in common meter with a characteristic hesitation step contrasted with a 3/4 version of the same subject. The
playfulness is interrupted by a strong transition, and a different subject which appears recto and inversus (right- and up-side-down) is introduced,
then finished off with a fuller registration. Pedal is simulated with an octave coupling second manual.
